Robert Ouzts, 22, was arrested early this week for recklessly riding a motorcycle and then attempting to avoid his arrest, though his attempts were fruitless and he was apprehended and taken to the Rappahannock Regional Jail.
His antics were just beginning.
At approximately 6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 3, two days after his initial arrest, members of the Stafford County Sheriff's Office were alerted to Ouzts' unexpected escape while being treated at Stafford Hospital.
According to investigators, Ouzts assaulted a correctional officer and rap from the hospital without a shirt or shoes, though his great escape was short lived.
Deputies were able to establish a perimeter in the area, and a police K9 was able to swiftly track him down hiding in the vegetation of a nearby pond with an assist from drone pilots.
As a result of his latest effort, on top of the initial charges, Ouzts was hit with new offenses that include:
- Assault and battery on a correctional officer;
- Escape with force;
- Escape;
- Obstruction;
- Larceny of leg restraints;
- Destruction of property;
- Felony by a prison.
Ouzts is back behind bars again.
